Less than a month ago, Rasheed wrote about the negative responses received when we at the StraightWay Foundation have tried to inform the Muslim public about our work, and of course about this wonderful blog.
I now have positive news to report about Carleton MSA in Canada, who eventually posted a message on their email ring about our work, after somebody forwarded it to them again. May Allah reward them.
You can read the email below.

Islam doesn't accept homosexuality…but that doesn't mean that Muslims have to be homophobic. There is no room for discrimination and hatred in our society.
New MCB Secretary-General, Muhammad Abdul Bari
Islamophobia Watch found the above quote from a Radio Five Live interview of 5th June. You can listen via the link, from 1:51:39, at least until the coming Monday. It's a pretty standard interview as far as Nicky Campbell's style is concerned, including a question about "this whole notion of Islam-o-phobia" (that's how Campbell pronounced it).
As for these comments of clarification, Dr Abdul Bari said he made them at the TUC Conference, not as IW wrote there. It was Daud Abdullah who spoke at the UAF Conference.
You can read some of my thoughts on homophobia at the bottom of this post, which also happens to be about an MCB controversy: MCB to fight homophobia?

From Rolled-up Trousers:
Pakistanis and Egyptians google "sex" more than anyone else. And Iran, Morocco, Saudi Arabia and Turkey are in the top 10.
gay.com report that Muslim countries are also the biggest googlers of "gay sex".
How do you explain this?!
